Weathering the Storm

Last night was quite an amazing experience – and one that really makes you appreciate the immense power of Mother Nature. This incredible storm has left homes and businesses flooded, and as you can see from this amazing CNN video the rising waters and winds caused some huge electrical explosions in the city.

They decided to cut off the power in Manhattan last night, to prevent other explosions and electrical fires due to the rising waters – and boy did they rise!

As you can see from the photo, the sea level set an all-time record here with a storm surge of 13 feet. Quite an amazing site to see in the city. It’s was a pretty surreal scene in New York, with flooded tunnels and massive power outages.

We are safe and sound, but realize this massive storm has left many others not so fortunate. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by Superstorm Sandy and hope you are all safe!
