Inauguration Day 2017
After an extremely hard fought election that was tense and even contentious at times we’ve finally arrived at the end of this historic election cycle. In many ways our nation seems as divided as ever but it is my hope that today marks a new beginning where our bonds can be strengthened and our nation healed. Now is the time to come together as a nation and realize that we all have so much more in common than the things that divide us.
Today the United States will inaugurate Donald Trump as the 45th president, and whether you’re happy or upset about it lets remember that we’re all in this together and must all learn to reach compromise based on mutual respect and understanding.
It’s also important to remember that no matter who sits in the White House, ultimately it is YOU who are in charge of your own life and will determine your destiny – not some elected official sitting in an office hundreds of miles away. In essence, you are the president of your own life, so it’s up to all of us to help make the world a better place.
I hope that today we recognize the fact that we are so much stronger together than we are divided – that’s why they call us the UNITED States. Let’s show the world what that means by working together and overcoming our obstacles TOGETHER.
