An Inspirational Speech from Cheryl Baraty
This past weekend, at a local seminar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cheryl Baraty gave a truly inspiring speech. The following is an email that our Vice President of Sales, Jim Winkler, received from Cheryl – discussing the event, and what Market America means to her. Cheryl was also kind enough to also include her actual speech, so you have the opportunity to experience her message. I’ve included it as an attachment to this article, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. It makes me so proud to be associated with such amazing people as Cheryl Baraty!
The Latest Evolution of the iPad
Tech junkies have been waiting months for the latest evolution of the iPad, and yesterday Apple unveiled the upgraded tablet to the marketplace. Like a hive of swarming bees, tech bloggers, online news agencies and even mainstream news channels covered the presentation by Apple CEO Tim Cook as a breaking news event. And why not! Whatever Apple produces usually turns to gold and its wealth of followers almost guarantee that the “New iPad” will be a huge success. Still, I couldn’t help but wonder if the new iPad is worth all the hype.
As I watched the video stream of the unveiling of the new iPad, something struck me. What would motivate you to buy one of these new devices? Sure, Apple’s new iPad has a host of impressive features, but is it really that much better than the previous model?
Building the Economy of the Future
Every day it seems you can go online and find a news story depicting the economic struggles of the nation. From debt concerns to unemployment– there is plenty to be concerned about. One of the most telling stories to come out in the past few days involves the average income level of US households. According to this recent Census report, the average income level of US households has dipped for the third consecutive year – reaching levels not seen since 1996.

For those of you that missed the 2010 Market America International Convention, take a moment to view this great clip of Market America UnFranchise owner, Scottie Pippen. In addition to becoming an UnFranchise owner and being inducted into the Hall of Fame, Scottie also launched Prime Joint Support Formula by Isotonix. When asked, what do you think is the next great financial opportunity? Scottie said, "Market America...get paid while you shop." "You don't stay in the game for 19 years unless you're doing something right. Obviously this company (Market America) has big dreams, big goals and I'm just happy to be a part of it."

I'll Catch Technology on the Rebound

Let's face it, technology is changing right before our eyes. Laptops, netbooks, iPods, HDTV's, mp3's -- they're all here one day and easily replaced the next day. Unfortunately, for a lot of people, we fear getting involved with technology for whatever reason and just ramble aimlessly using an older format, because it gets the job done. In the process, technology has passed us by, where we just throw up our arms and say "I'll catch it on the rebound." Unfortunately, things don't really work this way. New products are released, and yet we stay mired in the same process that we were previously in, while others are off being productive because they made the decision to get involved with technology rather then to let it frustrate them.
Case in point, VHS tapes used to be a nouveau idea. A few years later, they were replaced by today's standard, the DVD. How many of you are still using a VHS player? Not many I'm guessing, because technology forced you to adapt. With that said, earlier today, maTV launched an exciting new feature -- the ability to view videos fullscreen. While online video won't be replacing physical DVD's anytime soon, what it does is with the help of technology, it will give you two options to use for showing videos, helping reduce overall clutter and improving means of delivering video content, regardless of where you're at!
At this point, I would give technology a big pat on the back. It has just done two things. First, physical DVD can now be used at home or when you're away from an Internet connection. Second, with a laptop, an Internet connection and access to marketamerica.com, you can now take the UnFranchise® business plan with you and show other entrepreneurs everywhere the best kept secret!
So who has a laptop and an Internet connection and isn't afraid of technology? By accepting technology and learning just a little bit each day, it will help you learn why catching technology on the rebound only just puts us further behind
Are you ready to embrace technology and see how much easier it can help make your life? Check out this great how to: on watching maTV videos in fullscreen -- guess what, you just learned something new and embraced technology rather than catching it on the rebound!

Who and What Inspired you to Create Market America?
That is a loaded question. Fundamentally it was an evolution, a metamorphosis culminating in an epiphany that sent us on an amazing journey called Market America for the last 18 years. I saw the same weaknesses and mistakes repeat themselves in the direct sales industry for 10 years as a distributor, independent contractor, sales person and, eventually, as an officer with many companies. I saw the same hypocrisy, short-comings and downfalls repeatedly, but I also saw opportunities that no one seemed ready to seize.
