Road to Recovery: A Team of Champions

It took a tremendous amount of courage on Loren’s part to overcome what she went through yesterday – as she underwent a surgical procedure to treat an aneurism in her brain. Loren has the heart of a champion, and I couldn’t be more proud of the way she faced this challenge.

But Loren is not the only champion on this team. Two champions that I’d like to thank with all my heart are Dr. Aman Patel and our dear friend Carmelo Anthony. Dr. Patel performed Loren’s procedure flawlessly, and I owe him so much for taking care of Loren. I also owe Carmelo much gratitude, as he and La La were the ones who got us connected with Dr. Patel in the first place!

While they may work in entirely different fields, Dr. Patel and Carmelo have a lot in common. Dr. Patel exhibited amazing dexterity and skill as he operated on Loren’s brain – placing a stent and then looping 6 coils around the aneurism to close it off. He is one of the best doctors in the world, and never misses his mark – just like Olympic Gold Medalist and basketball superstar Carmelo Anthony!

Each man is a champion in his own right, and I salute them both for all they have done for me and my family. Loren and I are so fortunate to have them on our Team of Champions!
