Hurricane Sandy: Helping those in Need

As entrepreneurs, we know that we have the power to change the world in incredibly important ways. However, sometimes we experience events beyond our control that can completely change the world around us. Many of us experienced just such an event this week, as Hurricane Sandy battered the Northeast and left a wake of destruction stretching across 15 states.

The true impact of this historic storm is still being determined, but as you can tell from these pictures this was a truly devastating storm that has affected millions of people.

My heart goes out to everyone who has lost someone to this storm, and to those who are left with the unthinkable task of rebuilding their homes and lives.

While the impact of this natural disaster may be measured in dollars, the only thing that truly matters is the people who were affected. Buildings can be repaired and objects replaced, but it is the lives we share that are truly priceless. Events like this truly put our lives and priorities in perspective.

One thing that has always made Market America so special is our tremendous sense of family, and we realize that many of our family members are suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Right now, our primary focus is making sure that our Market America family is safe and sound, and that everyone is receiving the assistance they need.

Together we are a team – and as a team we share success and sorrow alike. Together, our resolve is far stronger than wind and water – and I have every confidence that we will work together and persevere as we always do in times of need. After all, that’s what makes this nation so special.
