Twitter Co-founders Spread Their Wings

Biz Stone, one of the original founders of Twitter, is stepping down in from his day to day role with the company to focus on a new venture with two other Twitter titans, Evan Williams and Jason Goldman. The highly talented trio have resurrected The Obvious Corporation, the company that once spawned Twitter. Stone had this to say about Obvious on his blog: “I'm thrilled to announce that Evan Williams, Jason Goldman and myself will be relaunching The Obvious Corporation as co-founders. Our plan is to develop new projects and work on solving big problems aligned along a simple mission statement: The Obvious Corporation develops systems that help people work together to improve the world.”

While it’s clear their goals for Obvious are grand, only time will tell if their venture will be successful. When you consider that the founders of this company have been behind some of the biggest companies on the internet, it would seem they are poised for big things – but even the most successful companies face doubters and critics – especially at the beginning. It’s funny to think that just a few years ago Twitter was almost unknown, and considered a useless toy by some critics. “It was something we were endlessly ridiculed for as being "useless" but we believed in it,” said Stone. Seems his belief was well placed.

If you’d like to know more about The Obvious Corporation, check out their newly minted website. In addition, here’s a video from earlier today, showing Obvious’ founders discussing their new business venture...

I believe they will do very well. The web as we know it is changing drastically and over the next 3-5 years the way we browse and shop and interact will be different than it is today.

These guys are all visionaries and will always be a step or two ahead of the pack in regards to using technology to connect people and solve issues.

    Wish them the best.
