So you want to get ahead in life? Sure, you can follow the conveyor belt in life - school, job, more schooling, family, grandkids, etc... But does that really get you to your own personal goals? A lot of times, we rely on this conveyor belt for our own happiness and to get us to where we want to be. In most cases, it doesn't because we are left feeling unfulfilled in many key areas.
In March, I went on a ten city tour for the 2011 Market America Blitz Tour, where I spoke to thousands of entrepreneurs on the importance of building an on-going stream of residual income so that they can live the life they've dreamed of instead of someone else's life.
There are obviously numerous ways to get there -- some people are lucky and fall into such a situation. Others must struggle before they finally make it. One thing though that everyone who strives for success should be doing is to lead by example. We all want to be somebody, so the best way to do this is to find someone who interests us and to model our own lives after their's.
As I often say, "you cannot lead where you will not go, and you cannot teach what you do not know." By studying someone and then modeling our lives after theirs and leading through our own actions -- helping out others, giving of ourselves, getting involved on social networks by actively showing people your business, becoming a resource and not just a spectator on the sidelines, etc... Together, we all stand to gain more in the long-run. This also becomes a springboard to bigger and better things.
Thing about it - when you want to know something, who do we often seek out? People that are already successful at something, not the person who sits there and waits for things to happen.
To help motivate you all and get you started down the path to success, here's a little exercise. I would like everyone that attended the 2011 Market America Blitz Tour to take a moment and share their story with us - we're even running a contest too, with one winner per month receiving a $100 gift card and a 30 minute call with a Blitz Tour Speaker.
The key thing to remember is that by sharing your success story, it also helps motivate others who may have been on the fence, to seek you out because they see your story being similar to their own and are then hungry to learn more.
So are you ready to start leading by example? Get started by entering the "Share Your Success Story" contest.
Keep growing. I believe in you.
