Apple iOS 5 Gives Twitter a Boost

Over the past few decades technology has improved by leaps and bounds, impacting nearly every aspect of life. As computers and mobile devices continue to evolve, the role technology plays in our lives seems to be increasingly significant. From monitoring the engines in our cars, to helping businesses run more efficiently, technology has permeated and influenced nearly every aspect of human existence. But one aspect that has been tremendously impacted by today’s technology is our ability to communicate with one another. Social media in particular has revolutionized the way we interact with one another, a fact not lost on Apple.

This CNN article discusses Apple’s initiative to integrate Twitter into its upcoming operating system, iOS 5. This integration will essentially streamline the process of posting anything to Twitter from any iPhone, iPad, or iPod. The 200 million people who utilize these devices will now be able to post to Twitter with just one tap of the screen. The best part is that application developers will be able to integrate this into their apps, making Twitter’s infusion into the fabric of Apple complete.

In the arena of social networking, it would appear that Twitter has found a strong ally in Apple - a juggernaut in tech industry. By setting up Twitter as the default social networking platform for their devices that run iOS 5, Apple is going to funnel millions of users to the micro-blogging site. As a result, Twitter seems positioned for success in the ever-changing game of social networking. It also signals the fact that social networking, as a crucial means of communication, is here to stay.

So between Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, what social network do you prefer, and why?

Right now, Facebook 1st, Twitter 2nd and I haven't explored the world of Linked In yet but I will here soon. I find it easier for the beginner to use Facebook and as you become more social network savvy to branch out to the other two.

That's interesting, Phil - I think many people use FB first and then start checking out the other platforms. For you, what makes Facebook easier to use?

    Thanks for posting.

Definitely Facebook Jr. I find that FB is much more diverse with what you can do and FB is great for reuniting long lost relationships as well as developing new ones. FB brings you into someones world. However I do find twitter to be very good for business, I put most of my hot deals and other promos on twitter and get a far better results with getting new preferred customers. So in a nut shell, build my relationships on FB, connect with some of those same people on twitter and it allows me to keep personal stuff personal and business stuff business.
