Motives on Happi.com

I wanted to share this article with you on Loren who was interviewed by Happi.com a very successful trade website on home & beauty.  To view the entire article click here http://bit.ly/9JMuVk

Loren Ridinger spent countless hours in the lab developing Motives, her color cosmetics line. While the range has done very well since it rolled out 17 months ago, it wasn’t until her teenage daughter finally ditched all of her other cosmetics that Ridinger breathed a sigh of relief.

“Kids are your biggest critics. They know how to be honest with you,” Ridinger told Happi in a phone interview from her office in New York City.“When I first launched Motives, she was a M.A.C customer,” Ridinger said of her daughter, who has recently switched over to her mom’s concealer—one of the few products she was holding out on. Added Ridinger, “Now she tells me, ‘Mom, you have the best cosmetics’.”

I wanted to share this article with you from the Wall Street Journal. For those of you that like to know the truth and are able to argue points based on facts, here is one for you on taxes and the economy.  The proof is in the pudding. If you want a solution to the economy, look at the historical FACTS.  It doesn't matter if you are a democrat, republican, liberal, moderate or conservative.  Look at what John F. Kennedy said!  The facts are the facts, lower taxes stimulate entrepreneurism and raises the countries productivity, income and tax basis. PERIOD.

We are looking for paradise!

What will you do with The Dash?

There is no greater thing in life than freedom.  Independence from whatever limits or controls you is the greatest experience in life.  Our forefathers were willing to risk everything for freedom and independence from tyranny, taxation, or oppression.  Their commonality was entrepreneurism.  They came to America to prosper and start their own enterprises.  Today most people are in economic bondage and controlled by the 45 year plan.  Most people work 45 years to end up broke and they miss the best experiences in life because they do not have the time or money to live their dreams freely.  95 percent of Americans spend 45 years of their life making the other 5 percent financially independent.  Yet our forefathers risked everything, including death, so anyone could expereience financial freedom.

Tuesday evening in a crowded room, Amanda Ridinger, the brainchild of Conquer Entertainment, introduced their UMO training in conjunction with Internet retailer,Market America to a packed crowd.  For those of you that are unfamiliar with the term UMO, it stands for University Major Overview and it is a driving force for entrepreneurs looking to find a focus towards earning their financial freedom.

Not only were attendants treated to a night where Amanda detailed how Conquer Entertainment would benefit the artist, but she also showed how non-musicians could also take advantage of this new program as well (building a business and helping to create a stream of residual income in the process).

Creativity is the ability to generate innovative ideas and manifest them from thought into reality. The process involves original thinking and then producing. Creativity has been attributed variously to divine interventioncognitive processes, the social environment, personality traits, and chance ("accident", "serendipity"). Although intuitively a simple phenomenon, it is in fact quite complex. Used to refer of creating new ideas, approach that can generate and lead to a sensation creative people must always stay active and learn to keep track of their ideas at all time. You never known when the next idea may occur and as an entrepreneur we must stay awake and not let them go to sleep. Here are a few examples on how to improve your creative abilities.

Loren The Online Queen

Written by JR Ridinger

This blog article post and feature in Fashion Nerd  is indeed a wonderful tribute to Loren, Market America, Fashioncents .com (her famous blog) Motives,  Cellular Labs, Paid to Shop, and Loren Jewels. But more than that it is a real life story about the blossoming of an entrepreneur. I met Loren when she was 18 and took her under my spell, or  maybe was under hers, but  she embarked on a journey with me into the entrepreneurial jungle and she saw first hand what making it happen was all about and learned as she went. Loren has always been on board and played a significant supporting role in the growth in Market America along with the  corporate team. She has always been a prolific shopper an keenly aware of trends in fashion, glamour, beauty products,  and design. She also is pretty savvy when it comes to real estate.  I always knew that there had to be a way to capitalize on her shopping passion and prowess. There is no doubt that that has happened with the portal and the Paid to Shop program. It’s amazing when you can turn a passion, habit, or obsession into a profitable business model, but more than anything  she is an example of a entrepreneurial metamorphosis.

For year's, I've been saying that putting oneself in the right position is crucial to getting ahead in business.  Whether it was that decision to purchase that last ticket, running into a stranger that eventually led you to meet a new prospect that helped jump-start your new business, a new-found relationship, even an idea; one thing is for certain, if you had never taken that chance, you probably wouldn't be in your current position. Sure, we don't have a crystal ball that allows us to see and predict the future (it would be great if we did), but we don't. Instead, we must rely on our own abilities to help us forecast and map out our plans for getting from point A to point B.

One example that I can provide to help best demonstrate this is my position on shopping.  Year's ago, I started to see the shift from brick-and-mortar to click-and-order with online shopping.  My company, Internet retailer, marketamerica.com, was in a good position -- where online shopping was big, but nowhere near as big as it is today.  It was during this time, that I made the decision to head towards my Everest.  Sure, we all wonder if the decisions we make today will impact those of tomorrow. Yes, any decision that we make today will have an effect on tomorrow, but that is where being at the right place at the right time can help us out.

Being an entrepreneur is about taking chances, as we try to get to the top.  It is about riding smaller waves so that we can take on the larger one's. Had I not made the decision to put more stock into internet retailing, we wouldn't have the ma Cashback program, we wouldn't have the IT Dream Team that we've begun assembling and refining -- and we wouldn't have moved up on the Internet retailer's Top 100!

My personal trek, which I set out on year's ago, is coming to fruition. More and more brick-and-mortar stores are going under and online retailing is becoming the place to be.

Through perseverance, marketamerica.com has climbed higher -- 12 places in fact, to #54 on the Internet retailer's Top 100 for 2009, with our sights set clearly on being in the Top 10 next.

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Everything in life happens for a reason, so that you're put in situations where you as an entrepreneur are forced to make tough decisions. What situations have you been in which have helped teach you and make you stronger?

Keep growing,

JR

Listen UFO’s and Entrepreneurs or marketers:

This is one of the most powerful tools for introducing the business or for that matter any marketing or entrepreneurial venture. See the PDF in the attachment or the links at the bottom. It is a link to a PDF. You can save it as a PDF or a link. The links can be used on a Social networks like MA Chatterbox, Facebook, or Twitter or a blog. The PDF or the link can also be sent by email or an email attachment. It opens quickly and tells the story as well and big picture in a “snapshot”. The great thing about it that it is multimedia rich. The reader, prospect, or viewer can peruse it an click on links or video streams that they are interested oin or curious about. They can drill down as deep as they want or just get the big piture. It loads or down loads quickly. The links and videos and articles are extremely impactful and convincing and build credibility. Any time someone wants to know more about the business or ask me what we do – I send it to them. You can go over it with them on the phone with both of you having it open. You can store it on a ipad reader too. You can use it as a follow up tool. I love that it can be virally marketed by email or social networks. You can put t on your chatterbox , Blog, or Facebook or Twitter and when people visit your profile and if they want to know about what you do – it gives them the best overview they can ever get. This is a powerful technique and you should learn it and use it and duplicate it with your partners or team. http://blog.marketamerica.com/blog/about_market_america/

Any of you that know me personally know that I'm an extremely determined person.  While there are a number of techniques that you can take to help put you on the right path to success; things like yoga and cutting-edge technology, these things can only carry you so far.  The rest if up to you, to program yourself to be a hopeless success. This doesn't necessarily mean just book smarts; rather, programming yourself to be success starts from within, eliminating the distractions that look to derail us (like watching television at a set time -- that's what a Tivo is for).

By programming ourselves to become a hopeless success, not only does it draw us closer to our core, but it also help's us focus on learning important values, so that we can impart our success on others.  One of my favorite way's to do this that really help's me focus on being successful and keep's me motivated is by listening to audios.

My routine is pretty simple, load up my iPod or mp3 player, put on my beats by Dr. Dre and just press play. Everything around me, the trivial things, fade into the background allowing me to focus on what is important.

By focusing on what matters, not only will it help simplify your life, but it will also help lead you down the right path to building a successful business and help improve other areas of your life in the process.

So who's ready to become a hopeless success? Check out an audio I recorded to help get you started down the right path to becoming a success.

JR
