Kim Kardashian with JR and Loren Ridinger, owners of Market America

Last week, I took some time to sit down with Kim Kardashian to discuss what her life was like -- constantly on the go.  She also shared some advice as an entrepreneur for those looking to become one themselves. Take a moment and read 10 Questions with Kim Kardashian.

You have 3.7 million followers on twitter, how has social media changed the way you do business and how has it affected your personal life brand?

I am almost at 4 million! Hoping to get there this week! I really believe I have a brand for my fans and tools like twitter have allowed me to connect and communicate directly with my fans! I get to hear what my fans are asking for an I make sure I can provide them with a product or information.

Over the past few years reality TV has taken over television, practically anyone can become a celebrity without having or needed the experience. Did you ever expect for your show "Keeping up With the Kardashians" to become this successful and what have you learned from it?

We had a fun idea to share our lives on TV and in no way did we ever think it would elevate to this level. We definitely share our craziness and family feuds but there is so much love and heart in our family, I just think people can relate. We have grown closer as a family from this experience and bottom line we love what we do.

What are the biggest issues facing your generation today?

There are so many different issues my generation is facing. This certainly is not a huge issue but being the hopeless romantic that I am, I find that old fashion love is hard to come by now in days. Too much communication... no more sweet letters and cards, it's all e-mails and texting, so impersonal. I do know that life was definitely more simple even when I was growing up. No cell phones, myspace, facebook. Seems like monogamy is an issue.

You live on a plane, what keeps you motivated? Have you ever felt like giving up?

I feel so blessed to be able to travel the world. It's truly a dream come true. I rarely get sick and when I'm taking lots of redeye flights I get sick which makes me want to take a few days off... other than that I would not give this up for anything!

What 3 pieces of advice would you offer entrepreneurs starting out today?

  1. Dedication and develop a strong work ethic
  2. Committing to your goals
  3. Find something you are passionate about and find a way to make money from it

You are the branding queen, everywhere I turn I see your name, poster, perfume ect... What or who do you attribute your branding success to? When did you realize you were a household name?

I really attribute my parents, my father especially for teaching me to have a strong work ethic. I worked in my father's office for 6 years and he taught me so much. I really think having goals and working hard to achieve them takes you a long way. The first time I realized I was a household name was when I read people magazine today and Elizabeth Edwards mentioned my name!

#7

What has been your most effective marketing tactic or technique?

Just being true to myself and fans. I don't endorse products I don't use or love. People can sense if something isn't authentic.

#8

What are you doing to give back to your community?

I was raised to always give 10% of my earnings to charity. I support and belong to many charities, e-bay auctions and I am heavily involved with the Dream Foundation, an organization that grants wishes to terminally ill adults.

Your mother Kris is your manager and a great one too! What has she done to help you along the way and what do you think she got her negotiation skills from?

My mom is the key to my success! We think exactly alike and are always on the same page. She's a better negotiator than I am, so I learn so much from her! I think she learned a lot from my dad as well.

I agree with her last answer, the key to success is to be ahead of others.

I had never taken the Kardashians seriously (of course I did not know anything about them and had never watched the show) until I saw that JR and Loren were friends with them. Once I gave them a chance, I fell in love with the family (well, with most of them!) I can see that Kim is not only kind and beautiful, she is also very smart! Thanks JR, for opening my eyes to this inspiring young woman and her family. I look forward to seeing what she does with her life.

You missed one very important question: Why did she sell her sex tape & why does she lie so much. This family is only interested in padding their wallet. I use to watch their show, but find them utterly disgusting cash cows! I can't wait till they crash & burn,,,,literally

promoting the products you believe in to me is the key also. I use market america products first, then suggest them to friends and family. If I like them and believe in them so will most of them. Great interview.. I love watching Keeping up with the Kardashians.

What a interview,I like to hear young generation's motivation and thoughts about life value.
I guess this young lady indeed formed her own insights after learning and inheriting some family wisdom.
    Smart girl!

I give her two more years and she's done, this girl is full of sht! The only thing that me her famous was her sex tape, if not she will still be the puppet she has always been. I agree with Nicole, disgusting cash cows! Can't believe Market America interviews trash like this.

You can transition well when moving from walking to running or jumping as your feet feel free and natural compared to more of the bulky basketball shoes.

As a jags fan, I agree with you. The Jags haven't had consistant WR since Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell. QB's always look better with WR's that can run a route, get open, catch a ball and run with it. There have been glimpse's of light but not enough to continue on the past path. I'm sure Gene Smith stands behind his decisions, but it's not enough. With a new owner willing to bring the Jags into the 21st century it's time for Gene Smith to step up. GO JAGS!hermes replica

Nike Free Running Shoes is a designed to offer an real barefoot running encounter though you're truly shod. It really is lightweight-only seven ounces, allowing you to produce a great "false impression" associated with running barefoot.
